Dr. Giles is a Pediatric Pulmonologist and a Program Director (Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship). Originally a Nurse (Fanshawe College, London, ON, Canada), she obtained her MD (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario (UWO) then completed Post Graduate Training in Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care & Pediatric Pulmonology (UWO & Duke University). Her initial appointment was at the University of Manitoba where she pursued an interest in education and advocacy at the National Level (Canada). She was the sole Pediatric representative on the National Lung Health Framework Steering Committee and continues in her role as a member of the RCPSC Pediatric Examination Board. She was recruited to the University of Chicago in 2013 and has worked to develop and direct a Pediatric Asthma Center for the South Side of Chicago.
